The art of the Blur

We didn't have the greatest weather today, however a couple great shots came out of today's drive.

How did I get the Art through Blur....???

Creating  art is not always  our first instinct when photographing a landscape.
Here are a few tips and tricks on how you can create art with light and blur.
Panning was the motion movement that I used to create this blur.  By following the lines of the landscape, I did not work against the  horizon lines of the land.  I would call this almost painting with panning.

The technical side of the image :

  By using different apertures  it will allow you to play with the amount of light reaching the image sensor.  Ultimately, slow shutter speed photography is a fun way to take different, artistic photographs. It's not for portraits, or sharp action shots.

 Remember,  the longer the shutter is open, the more light that will be  exposed to the image. A slower shutter speed will create  interesting motion blur.   You cannot get that look with faster shutter settings. A smaller aperture or lens filter can prevent photos from becoming overexposed during the day with a slow shutter speed.
To produce these images I had an aperture of 32 as well I added a polarizing filter. 
 Capturing the essence of motion through the art of blur is something you should all try next time your out photographing. Is truly all about experimenting, letting loose and working outside the box.

I have started a new photo project for the christmas holidays.  I have found myself  a new little nutcracker buddy. I carry him around in my purse and I take him out when I want to share a christmas cheer!!!

What is the Art of Photogaphy?

A photograph is a moment in time which is preserved for eternity.  Capturing a facial expression,an abstract shape, fleeting moment in time, these are all  the fundamentals  of being a great photographer. Photographs conveys emotions, in a way no words can.
I  believe that to be great at something you need to be passionate about it. When passion comes out, nothing but success will follow.
There are many styles of photography as there are photographers out there.  We each pursue the fulfilment that our art offers interpreting the world in different ways.
I have been a professional photographer now for many years and still to this day I am finding myself. I am constantly creating new projects to keep the motivation going. I am always looking for new inspiration and ideas & projects.
In the months ahead I will elaborate on this  and also hope that readers contribute their thoughts and feelings to this section. Let me hear from you.

New Years

HAPPY NEW YEARS!!!!!!

Some People think that setting new years resolutions are stupid. A complete waste of time and energy. We never seem to live up to them, setting unrealistic goals for the new year in the moment seems to be a great ideas. Often we will work at them for several weeks sometimes even for a few months,however we forget about them and go back to our old ways. I do feel that anything is possible when you try and put your mind into it. With the right amount of work and effort , you can accomplish them. This is my list of things that I will accomplish in 2012 :
I feel that if I have some goals for my photography I will become a better and photographer one day at a time.


1- Work on a personal project all year. Where's Timmy!!!???
2- Be introduced to Infrared Photography
3- Learn something new about photography everyday

Moon and stars

The moon was very bright this evening, driving home from getting a coffee at Starbucks It stuck out to me,it was very low to the earth and seemed larger then normal to the eye. I drove home as quick as I could to pick up my camera. Then i headed out in the direction towards the moon. To get out of the city and find somewhere dark without any city lights. I stopped at a few different spots but none seem to have what I was looking for. I found myself behind of the Club d'age D'or in Scoudouc in the dark.

I wanted to see the stars and the constellations that form our wonderful universe and that i was able to do. Obviously I do not have a long enough lens to document the stars however, sometimes it's great to photograph with your eyes only. Our photographic memories is a wonderful thing, we should use it more often.

I noticed that there was a very bright star and also a cluster of stars that stuck out. The first thing I did when i got home is look it up on the internet. This is what I found, which I think is very interesting.
