Feeding Volunteers

This is myself being creative! It's taken with a fisheye lens of a chaffing dish. For those who don't know what that is, it's a large dish with a sterno which provides heat to the dish and keep food warm. This set up was for the set up crew and volunteers the days before the big event. If you look closely you can see the reflection of a few of our Moncton locals in the chaffer

set up day of junior track and field

Working for the Delta Beausejour there is great opportunity to participate in these unique events. The Delta was the Food and Beverage provider for the whole event. This being the before and set up days. It was still lots of fun and remarkable to see.

Scratching the 8 ball!

Day 17

Steve and I one evening went to play some pool at the Dooly's near our place. I was quick to learn that my pool playing skills are not the greatest! It's all about having fun:)

Roof Top Buzzing Beez

Day 18The Delta employees are not the only hard workers here at the delta this summer. If you look way.. way up while walking by, you will see hard working honey bees! These bees have been here for a few months now working away. The delta will harvest the honey and use it either in the cooking for the restaurant or for VIP amenities. This is a really cool new urban concept and we are for sure the first hotel to implement this in Moncton.

Softball

Day 16

Playing every Monday with my softball team is what inspired me today! Keep in mind that different angles is something that you need to be thinking about when taking photos. Getting low and high, not always at eye height. This images was taken with the camera laying on the ground!

Martini Anyone?

Day 15
It's raining it's pouring, the old man is snoring! That is how i felt today! The rain finally came down and it poured hard. It made taking a outdoor image quite difficult. Instead, I set up my own little studio in my living room, deciding to photograph beads in a martini glass. The bright blue back light you see in this images is made by the TV. Using different kinds of light is what I'm constantly looking for. It makes each image very unique!

The Atlantic Car Show!

Day 14& 15

Moncton hosted the Annual Atlantic Car Show this past weekend! It was a car crazy weekend to say the least. Everywhere you turned, antique cars were staring you in the face; it brought you right back to the 50& 60's. Even though I wasn't born in that time period,I felt as though I was a part of that particular era. Pretty cool feeling!

Elmwood Cemetery HDR

Day 13

This would be my second attempt at a HDR image! I'm definitely getting better at it. This Photo was taken in the Elmwood cemetery. This cemetery is has a lot of character for sure. It also has to be the longest one in the greater Moncton area. IT is recorded that the first burials in Moncton were made in what was known as " The Old Cemetery" which was located where Chateaux Moncton, on Main St now stands today.
I was informed that in approximately 1821, the Free Meeting House Cemetery was established and many of the early burials were transferred to this cemetery. The First recorded burial in The Moncton Rural Cemetery was made in 1835, however it is known that many burials go back before this date. There is only no standing proof!

The HDR adventure!!

Day 12
The bright colors and range in tones and exposure is not something that happens by chance. There is some alterations made to the images. I start out with 3 images of different exposures, combining them with this software I have will combine them all to produce this image. Called HDR!
This is my first attempt to produce an HDR image. There will be lots more to come! For all those who are new to this thecnique, here is a little description to help you understand more.
HDR-High Dynamic Range Imaging is a set of techniques that allow a greater range of luminence between the lightest and darkest areas of an image. This is greater than standard digital imaging techniques or photographic methods. This wider dynamic range allows HDR images to more accurately represent the wide range of intensity levels found in real scenes, ranging from direct sunlight to faint starlight.

Skyscraper!

Day 11
Architecture is something that fascinates me tremendously. It could be something as simple as an old barn to a skyscraper! The mirror windows is what caught my eye and got me to stop and snap 5 to 10 images on this one building!

Painting with Light!

Day 10
The new effects on the Lake of the opening of the Dam. It's been open now for a few weeks and there are obviously some good and bad about this. The lake is no longer the beautiful and esthetically as it used to be, but now they are finding creatures, fish and such. This image is a reflection of Riverview and all it's lights on the mud that has now gathered on the lake side. These bright colors almost look like a painting. Sometimes photographs can be abstract. This is for sure a representation of that.

What’s a bore?

It’s a wave, actually, the result of the record high tides of the Bay of Fundy that cause the water in Moncton’s Petitcodiac River to reverse direction and to raise with just one wave coming in from the bay.

In little more than an hour the river can go from a muddy river bottom at low tide to being filled to its banks at some 7.5 metres, or about 25 feet, in depth.

The Tidal Bore can be seen from many points in Metro Moncton, starting from various spots along the Dieppe riverside trail system to the south side of Champlain Street, near Hall’s Creek in Dieppe; in Moncton along the waterfront boardwalk or from Bore Park; or from Riverview’s riverside trail system.

The Gunningsville Bridge between downtown Moncton and Riverview offers excellent vantage points for pedestrians.

Playing with the light of the old and the new!

Day 9
What my image is all about today is all about light and the way it can play with your eye and camera. This is taken at my moms house on her pagola. the light is coming through the top of the grape wines, making these patterns of light and dark. The dark part of the image frames the focal point. Being a professional photographer there are some major points that everyone need to look out for to make strong images. Light, framing, sharpness, and love for photography is the magic potion for the perfect image. Not just that I was playing with the light but with a concept.A concept of time and how it flies by and that we all grow old and will eventually shrivel up and pass. Just like these two leaves.

Canada Day Fireworks

Day 8
Today is Canada's Birthday! Do you know that our flag was adopted Feb 15 1965! But on July 1, 1867 Canada became a kingdom in its own right on that date but the British kept limited rights of political control over the new country that were shed by stages over the years until the last vestiges were surrendered in 1982 when the Constitution patriated the Canadian constitution. Interesting little facts about our wonderful country.

I was not able to chose between these 2 images for my image of the day. Why choose? It Cannot hurt to post both! So here they are. The best part about this evening is that they had speakers all hooked up outside. Where they played our beautiful national anthem, while shooting up these very colorful and loud fireworks. These were by far the best fireworks I have ever seen in Moncton! EVER!!
